YaziHub

A digital home for indigenous learning.

Welcome to YaziHub, a pan-African space where language, culture, and memory come together.

Here, you’ll find proverbs, riddles, counting systems, and folktales — each gathered across our continent’s diverse traditions and presented in isiXhosa, isiZulu, Swahili, Luo, Shona, and African Englishes.

We built this space for learners, educators, and families.
For the curious, the nostalgic, the hopeful.
To explore, download, and share.

About YaziHub:
A Story of Co-creation

YaziHub is a multilingual digital repository of indigenous African knowledge, designed to support early learning through proverbs, riddles, folktales, and counting systems.

The project began with a challenge to the Second-Year Scholars of the Mandela Rhodes Programme: move beyond theory, embrace complexity, and build something together.

Our response was to prototype a simple, practical hub for multilingual, culturally grounded resources.

By gathering materials in isiXhosa, isiZulu, Swahili, Luo, Shona, and African Englishes, YaziHub invites educators, caregivers, and young learners to rediscover language as a tool of belonging.

This is more than a site.

It’s a seed of change; a small step toward re-Africanising education through story, sound, and shared memory.
